Westview Ski Team News:

12/4/00:   Get ready for the 1st night training this Wednesday (Dec 6th).

You should check out your ski gear ahead of time.  Make sure you can find all of your stuff .... hats, gloves, poles, ski pants (still fit?), jacket, boots, etc.  

Bring your equipment to school and place it in the storage area.  Coach Lepene will be there from 7:15 to 7:45 for you to put your stuff in.  Then, at 2:30, it will be unlocked for transfer to the bus.

We will NOT be stopping off at McDonalds this year on the way back.  You might want to bring a snack or some $$$ to get something at the ski area.

Return time should be around 11:30pm

PS:  You have 2 days to contact Pat Chewning if you don't have a helmet yet.

12/4/00:   News about volunteers and workers

Pat Acheff has volunteered to collect photos of the racers throughout the year and help put together a photo album for each racer at year's end.  As you get photos of the races, please pass them to Pat Acheff.

Julie Stevens has volunteered to make some sort of "Westview Ski Team" apparel available.  She will probably contact the team via email when the details are worked out.

Please check the calendar of events for race workers.  Still looking for workers for the Christine Cato race.

12/13/00:   Race workers for CATO race; added an optional race Dec 30; need carpool drivers for training on Dec 29

I have two workers signed up for the CATO race (1/6/01-- Eldridge and Pappas).  I need one more, preferably someone with a male Varsity racer.

There is an optional race on Dec 30th (Kyle Curran memorial race).  Contact Mike Lepene if you are interested.

For our training on Dec 29th (Friday), there will not be a bus.  I need volunteers for carpooling up to Mt Hood Meadows. We'll meet at Westview, south side parking lot at 6:00 am.
